All winter long my dad's favorite past time has been cutting firewood and hauling it to his yard. Here he is sitting by his woodpile :)
The kids have gotten to help some with the wood, but their biggest job will be when it is time to carry it inside. My parents have a big room in their basement next to the furnace to stack wood in and there is also a woodshed just to the left of this photo. Dad said the wood has to cure outside all summer and then it will be ready to store for winter. "Doing wood" is not only good exercise, but we'll all enjoy the benefits when we're warm and toasty this winter. Good one, Dad!
