Good evening to you from Orcas Island! This morning was great- at Arlington First Baptist Church and then back to the Eckers for a quick (and delicious!) lunch. Our drive to the ferry terminal was a bit stressful as we ran into a huge traffic jam on the highway and had to take some alternate routes. Thankfully, we left the trailer at the Eckers for the night and just had the Suburban. Also, thankfully, the 3:30 ferry was running behind schedule and we were able to make the ferry, which left about 15 minutes late. We enjoyed a gorgeous ride-the kids were thrilled! My cousin, Ronna, met us at the landing here in Orcas Island and we've been in paradise ever since! It is so beautiful here. I told Leo it almost seems like a make-believe land :) Grant and Ronna have a cottage with steps leading down to the beach. The kids played in the sand until the tide came in and then came up to the yard and played some more. We've been enjoying sitting around a fire and roasting s'mores while watching a breath-taking sunset. Ahhh... just what we needed after these crazy days of driving! Grant and Ronna have two children and our kids are totally enjoying their new friends. The plan is to leave here tomorrow afternoon, pick up the trailer in Arlington and head to Ron and Rita's in Maple Valley for the night and then on to Aunt Alice's Tuesday. Once we are "parked" somewhere for more than a night or two, we'll upload some pictures and get the blog updated too.Again, thank you for praying! God is good and has had His Hand of protection on us as we travel- there have been a couple times when I'm aware of it and even more when I'm not, I'm sure! Missing everyone at home and enjoying everyone we're spending time with along the way. Lots of love~ Leo, Menda and Crew
