Ned's First Caribou

A couple of weeks ago Leo took Ned out to Maribou Landing for a caribou hunt. Ned has been on caribou hunts before, but never as "the hunter". They spent the night there at Northern Wilderness Adventures and then hiked out the next morning, looking for 'bou. They found some not far away and Ned was able to shoot his first caribou!
Here's the proud hunter :) The next day we ate some pan-fried caribou steaks and they were very tasty! Good job, Neddy!

As Ned and Leo were getting the meat ready to pack back to camp, they spotted this pine martin up a tree. "They" say it is rare to see one of these animals in the wild (they, being Ned and Leo!). Leo told Ned to stay there while he ran and got the camera. I guess the little beastie was hissing and looking quite mean, so Ned told Leo, "Why don't I go get the camera and you stay here." So he did! These pine martins are like little wolverines. All in all, they had a great hunt, which was a wonderful way to end the summer vacation.
