Fowler Family Update-Spring 2009

Below is a copy of our latest newsletter. Also, a map of Entebbe, Uganda...which is where we hope to be moving next January!
Ah, Springtime in Alaska… there aren’t too many places we could wake up to 25 below zero and wish you a Happy Spring, but that is what we are doing today! The sun is shining brightly and the kids are starting to complain that it isn’t dark at bedtime, so we know warmer weather is just around the corner.

Since writing our Christmas newsletter, we have been starting to learn the ropes of being new missionaries and raising support. We are thankful that several churches are willing to let us come and share with them and are looking forward to doing that these next few weeks.

As many of you know, for quite some time, we have been planning a West Coast Road Trip for this spring. Our plan is to leave Anchorage on April 20th and return before June 15th, as Ned starts Bible Camp that day. We are still looking for a travel trailer to pull behind our Suburban so that we will have our own beds and kitchen wherever we go! Please join us in praying that God will provide just the right trailer (at just the right price!) and in His perfect timing. We are really looking forward to the trip and to seeing friends and family along the way.

On a personal note, we are praising the Lord for a successful conclusion to the termination trial for Malachi’s adoption case last month. If it works out, we may be able to complete his adoption before we leave in April, otherwise it should happen at the end of July. There is a lot of paperwork that needs to be completed before we go overseas, so it would be great to have his adoption done as soon as possible.

March seems to be the “sick season” at our house and this year is no exception. We’ve got several different “bugs” we’re dealing with right now and would really appreciate your prayers for good health, especially as we begin to travel.

Following is what we have for our itinerary so far. If any of you are in the areas where we will be sharing, we’d love to see you!

Sunday evening, March 22nd- Soldotna Bible Chapel, Soldotna, Alaska
Sunday evening, April 5th-Lazy Mountain Bible Church, Palmer, Alaska
Wednesday evening, April 8th-Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene, Anchorage, Alaska
Fri-Sun, April 17th to 19th- Tanalian Bible Camp Spring Conference, Port Alsworth, Alaska
Saturday, May 9th- Lunch pot-luck at Scio Baptist Church, Scio, Oregon
Sunday morning, May 10th-Scio Baptist Church, Scio, Oregon
Sunday morning, June 7th-Tonasket Free Methodist Church, Tonasket, Washington

It is a delight for us to watch as God continues to confirm His call on our lives and as He faithfully provides. If you have questions or would like any specific information about what we are doing, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are thankful for you and for the part you play in our lives!

May God richly bless you today~ Leo & Menda
Ned, Rylea, Elizabeth, Kaiden, Nezzie, Isaac, Samuel and Malachi

Menda, I'm looking at the edge of Lake Victoria as I write from Kampala, and thinking of you! It's hot and humid, but you'll love it here I think. Off to our place of work end of this week! Grace in your transitions!
